Former Fine & Country CEO David Lindley is now working for his family’s property firm which has investments in several estate agencies and a mortgage broker in and around Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.

31-year-old Lindley dramatically resigned from his role as CEO at at 300-branch agency earlier this month in order to ‘pursue other business interests’, saying at the time that “it has been an exciting journey for me with Fine & Country”.

“I have been fortunate enough to be part of this superb brand which has grown rapidly and is now one of the leading names in premium estate agency”.

Lindley has now joined holding company The Brookman Group, which is run by his father and includes several family members as directors including his father Malcom – who founded The Guild of Professional Estate Agents and was its MD for over 22 years – plus mother Sharon and brother Peter. His father also established Fine & Country in 2003 as a spin-off from the Guild.

Fine franchise

Until recently, The Brookman Group owned a 75% share in The Cambridge Estate Agency Ltd, which operates the Fine & Country franchise in and around the city, and a 50% share in FCBP Ltd, which owns the Brookmans Park Fine & Country franchise in Hertfordshire.

Now, it holds a 34% share in the Wise Property Group. It has a portfolio of companies bought, developed and brought together by industry figure Neil Wise.

It is based in St Ives in Cambridgeshire and includes local estate agencies WellingtonWise, Ensum Brown, the Brookmans Park F&C franchise mentioned above and The Letting Agency, which has operations in Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire.
