Edward McCulloch, (pictured, above) one of London’s most high-profile prime estate agents, has joined former Chestertons boss Nick Carter’s US-style associate-based agency Harding Green.
Launched exactly two years ago the company offers agents an alternative to the traditional estate agency and has already bagged several other leading lights of the London scene including Patricia Farley, Matthew Jackson, Matthew Alexander, Adrian Bedloe and Jack Thomas.
The company runs a central London office but associates are self-employed and responsible for between 15 and 20 properties for sale and to let, and can choose several commission structure options.
Harding Green claims its model means consultants can earn between £100,000 and £250,000 a year.
This includes receiving a salary and 20% of the commission or working without a salary and taking up to 75% of any commission.
McCulloch brings his wide residential sales knowledge and client relationship management experience to the team and has already secured three instructions.
During his 17-year career prior to joining Harding Green, McCulloch has worked until recently for Douglas & Gordon but also John D Wood and Hamptons International.
Corporate model
“I knew that I needed to leave the corporate model as I sought more control over the sales process rather than passing onto a negotiator, and I wanted to give a much a more individual service to my clients,” he says.
“My various expertise has gone on to underpin my fundamental belief that sellers and buyers alike want a more personalised service than the mass-market model can offer, and it is the boutique estate agents like Harding Green who are dedicated to providing that offering from beginning to end of the process.”
